Twitter Promoted Trends

I just noticed that there are promoted trends on Twitter! I barely use the web interface and I have pre-defined trends I look out for. Cute move from Twitter. Hopefully they won’t flood us with them and just like @samerkoussa pointed out, trends should be trends and not promoted ones! It makes sense.

Google Celebrating Pacman’s 30th Anniversary!

No body on this planet (I hope) doesn’t know PACMAN!

Tomorrow, May 22nd, Pacman will be 30 years old. And this time Google is paying homage to Pacman with a doodle with a twist! Playable doodle! (and NOT in flash +1)

Over 200 levels to play with! (It’s being reported that the game will stay for 48 hours, so hurry up!)

Google’s new search result page

Some of us out there are experiencing the new search layout/ui of Google.

What is really interesting about it is that it changes according to your query (duh!) making the whole “experience” smoother and better depending on what you are searching for.

In a more simple way:

1st query: Lebanon. You get “everything” along with the ability to filter, images, videos, news, blogs and maps. which makes… Continue reading

Google Virtual Arabic Keyboard

I wonder why Google released a virtual keyboard for Arabic and didn’t go with the transliteration service that they already have (Google Ta3reeb) Hoping we get to know why. A business issue or an UX one? note that Google has a pseudo transliteration service that works with SOME words when using an arabic interface ( i.e. type “Loubnan” and wait, then try a different… Continue reading

Ipad: the lowdown

After the few laughs and comments I got from my previous post about the iPad, it’s time to get a bit serious.

Lots of bashing of the iPad is going around, a twitter friend is waiting for me to sell the iPad (which I don’t own YET, but the spoof post lead him to think I did).

the short answer to the whole… Continue reading

cars in lebanon

I don’t know what our dear government is doing or even thinking, but, since things are really fucked up, why don’t they offer us something so that we forget about the major fails (health/education etc etc etc) that we are going through because of politics and their personal and religious goals.

The roads in Lebanon are ugly, it’s fact, just like the sunrise and sunset. It’s even more ugly… Continue reading

Arabnet Day 1…Draft

And it starts…the event that everybody was waiting for Arabnet! To sum it all up the focus was today on startups in every single panel, the goodiness is all for tomorrow.
